Dr. Wisdom O. Anyim

Dr. Wisdom O. Anyim is a distinguished librarian, accomplished researcher, celebrated author, and visionary leader, making transformative contributions to library development and academic excellence.

Before joining Edwin Clark University, Dr Anyim served as University Librarian at Rhema University, where he played a pivotal role in modernising the institution’s library infrastructure. His leadership led to the establishment of a state-of-the-art Postgraduate Library and a dedicated Medical Library, alongside a robust digital ecosystem and sustainable e-learning platforms. Under his stewardship, Rhema University achieved full accreditation for all academic programmes, underscoring his strategic vision and commitment to academic excellence.

With extensive experience across various library environments, Dr. Anyim has held key positions, including Head of Digital Library, Pioneer Head of the Law Library, and Head of Technical Services at both Salem University, Lokoja, and Kwara State College of Education. His expertise spans hybrid and digital library services, digital archiving, legal research, and technical library operations.

Beyond academia, Dr. Anyim served as Head of Information, Research and Documentation to the wife of Nigeria’s former Vice President, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, managing her multimillion-dollar legal research library with global influence.

As a passionate advocate for inclusive education, he founded the Book for Every Child Initiative and the Inclusive Knowledge Access Network, which have provided free books and educational materials to underserved communities in Southern Nigeria. Through these initiatives, he promotes literacy development, bridges the digital divide, and addresses educational disparities in marginalised regions.

Dr. Anyim is a prolific scholar with over 50 publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and numerous citations on Google Scholar. His research is widely recognised for its impact on digital resource access, information retrieval, and sustainable management control systems. He has presented papers at prestigious conferences and workshops both locally and internationally, cementing his reputation as a global thought leader in Library and Information Science.

As a respected member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Dr. Anyim has been actively involved in fostering partnerships and advocacy. He represented the Association at the Open Conversation of Librarians’ Conference for Africa in Ghana, where he joined representatives from 21 African nations to discuss the future of librarianship on the continent.

With extensive teaching experience across multiple higher institutions and a track record of international collaborations, Dr. Anyim effectively bridges the gap between theory and practice in librarianship.

He is an alumnus of the University of Nigeria and a registered member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) and the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN). Dr Wisdom O. Anyim stands as a trailblazer in the field of Library and Information Science.
