B. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR ACADEMIC POSITIONS
i) Professor (ECUASS7)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree from a recognized University, and have extensive and
outstanding University teaching and administrative experience of at least 8 years, evidence of
leadership in research and successful supervision of post graduate students. In addition, applicants
must have outstanding research and scholarly publications in recognized, acceptable and reputable
national and international journals. Were applicable applicants must be registered with their

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree from a recognized University, and have extensive and
outstanding University teaching and administrative experience of at least 6 years, evidence of
leadership in research and successful supervision of post graduate students. In addition, applicants
must have outstanding research and scholarly publications in recognized, acceptable and reputable
national and international journals.
Senior Lecturer (ECUASS 5)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D degree from a recognized University, and have extensive and
outstanding University teaching and administrative experience of at least 4 years, evidence of
leadership in research and successful supervision of post graduate students. In addition, applicants
must have outstanding research and scholarly publications in recognized, acceptable and reputable

Applicants should possess a Ph.D degree from a recognized University or an acceptable relevant
professional qualification; have evidence of substantial teaching and research experience and evidence
of scholarly publications in recognized and reputable journals. Plus 2 years post qualification
experience in a University or comparable institution. Were applicable applicants must be registered

iii) Lecturer II (ECUASS 3)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree from a recognized University or an acceptable relevant
professional qualification. Plus 1 year post qualification experience in a University or comparable
institution.
iv) Librarian II (E-Library Management, Cataloguing & Classification).
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or
equivalent. Proficiency in original cataloguing and classification using LCC Scheme, MARC21,
AACR2, and RDA .etc. Experience with digital library systems, institutional repositories, and online
databases. Strong ICT skills, including knowledge of library management software including
KOHA, and electronic resource management systems. Excellent communication and training skills.
v.) Assistant Librarian (Digital Library & Cataloguing)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related
field. A Master’s degree is an advantage. Knowledge of cataloguing standards and digital library
platforms and Koha Integrated Library system
Experience with Open Access repositories and digitization software including Institutional
repository system. Strong ICT skills and familiarity with library automation software.

vi. Law Librarian
A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and a Bachelor’s degree with in Law.
Knowledge of legal information sources and research tools. Proficiency in cataloguing legal
materials using appropriate classification schemes. Strong research and information retrieval skills.
Familiarity with legal citation formats and reference management.
