Christmas 2024 message

Dear Edwin Clark University Community,

As we approach this blessed Christmas season, we are reminded of the profound significance of sacrifice, purpose, and hope embodied in the birth of Jesus Christ. The story of Christmas brings us a message of divine love and purpose. The scriptures remind us, “For unto us shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6, KJV). In this verse, we see a beautiful portrait of hope, one that points to a light that shines in the darkest times, offering redemption and peace.

Christ’s birth was a divine sacrifice with a purpose. His coming into the world was to save, to heal and to give hope to all. The sacrifice God made through His Son reminds us of the spirit of selflessness and the transformative power of love. As we reflect on this ultimate gift, let us be inspired to extended compassion, generosity, and kindness to those around us. Just as we are blessed with purpose, let us also be a blessing to our university, our families and our community.

During this time, may you find renewed strength in the words of John 3:16: “For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” As we gather to celebrate, let this verse remind us of God’s boundless love and the gift of eternal life, bringing us hope and comfort.

May the joy of Christmas fill your hearths and homes with peace, love and grace. Merry Christmas to you all.

New Year 2025 Message

Dear Edwin Clark University Community,

As we close 2024 and look ahead to the dawn of 2025, we are blessed with the opportunity to reflect on our journey, and to renew our commitment to the purpose and hope that lie ahead. The New Year calls us to embrace resilience, and faith as we continue to build a vibrant future for Edwin Clark University.

The scriptures encourage us to look to God as we step forward in faith. In Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord declares, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” As a university community, may we hold tightly to this promise, trusting that each challenge and achievement we face is part of a greater purpose designed to bring growth and prosperity.

As we enter this new chapter, let us be reminded of the importance of unity, perseverance and vision. Proverbs 16:3 tell us. “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” In our commitment, let us lean on God’s wisdom and guidance knowing that He will strengthen our steps as we strive to make a positive impact.

May 2025 be a year of fulfillment, marked by breakthroughs, new opportunities, and lasting achievements. Together, we will continue to shine a light on the world, uplifting our community and embodying the purpose for which we were called.

Happy New Year, Edwin Clark University! May the blessings of God rest upon each one of you. Guiding us all in peace, joy, and prosperity.

With warm regards and prayers,

Engr. Prof. Samuel T. Wara

Vice Chancellor’s Remarks at the 10th Edition of  Edwin Clark University Carol Services

Welcome Address:

Good evening, esteemed members of the Edwin Clark University Community, our beloved host Community of Kiagbodo, and all our distinguished guests. On behalf of the Council, Management, Faculty, and Students of Edwin Clark University, I warmly welcome you to the 10th Edition of our Carol Service.

This gathering is a beautiful reflection of the spirit of Christmas, a season that transcends time, bringing hope, joy, and love to all humanity. As we come together to celebrate, let us remember the words of the Prophet Isaiah:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

This prophecy reminds us of the divine gift of Jesus Christ, whose birth we celebrate today-a gift of peace and salvation toa world in desperate need of hope.

In the New Testament, the angel proclaimed this joy to the shepherds:

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David, a savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)

This season is not just about traditions or festivities; it is a divine reminder that God’s love is unwavering, even in uncertain times.

Farewell Message:

As we approach the conclusion of this service, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you-our community members, guests, and especially our host community. Your presence here today signifies the unity, love, and shared purpose that binds us as one family.

The essence of this season, reflected in both scripture and life, is one of resilience and hope. The prophet Jeremiah offers us encouragement:

”For I know the plans that I have for your, “declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11)

In the New Testament, Paul reminds us of the transformative power of faith:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

As we look forward to 2025, let us hold on to these promises. Christ, whose birth we celebrate, is not just the reason for this season but the foundation of hope for the coming year.

Christ: The Reason for the Season and Essence of 2025

As we rejoice in the birth of our savior, let us remember why Christ is the reason for the season. In His coming, He brought light to a dark world, hope to the hopeless, and joy to the brokenhearted.

His life and sacrifice reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles. The Apostle John captures this beautifully: “In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:4-5)

As we step into 2025, Let this light guide us. The essence of 2025 should be anchored on the teaching of Christ-compassion, unity, resilience, and service. May we embody these virtues in all we do, individually and collectively as a University and a Community.

Conclusion

In closing, let us reminded that Christmas is more than event; it is thew celebration of a divine intervention that changed the course of humanity.

As we leave this gathering, let us carry the message of Christmas in our hearts:

  • Hope for better days ahead.
  • Love that transcends barriers.
  • Peace that calms every storm.

May the joy of Christ fill our homes this season, and may His Grace abound in 2025, making it a year of fulfillment, growth, and divine favour.

Once again, I thank you for your presence, and may God bless Edwin Clark University, our host Community, and everyone gathered here this eveing.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous Brand New Year!
